Our Environment

Our founder, Ralph Gorrill, embodied the principles of a farmer who fully appreciated the level of stewardship necessary to sustain a viable farm for centuries to come.

Ralph was an avid sportsman who appreciated and had a love for animals.  Our family has preserved roughly  40 acres of land as an “Environmental Preserve” to help support the natural wildlife that flourishes in the valley.  Our environmental preserve is home to deer, turkeys, squirrels, beavers, and many more native animals.

Memorial to our long time ranch manager, Don Heffren

In 1999, our long time Ranch Manager, Don Heffren was able to complete a project intended to help preserve the natural stock fish, namely salmon, in Butte Creek.  The retrofitted dam protects fish from entering irrigation systems and provides fish ladders to allow fish passage in both the summer and winter months.
